Ambigram me

I have used this site to build an ambigram of my first name. Remember the SUN-Microsystems logo? Yeap - an ambigram. I found out today that it is an ambigram.
I feel like I'm the last person on earth to discover these graphical figures.
Has anyone reading this post already used ambigrams for a logo-design? Please stand up :)

PS: If you're also new to this stuff, John Langdon and Scott Kim seem very keen on using ambigrams, so check their sites. :)

BRANDGASM looks promising

I received a message from Brando who was writing to spread the word about his new blog. I looked at the site and must say that I like it. You might also give it a try.

Brando in his first post:
"With this blog, I want to explore the insidious and often dysfunctional relationship of brands to people, and people to brands. There's a sort of pornography in the way corporations violate our living space with their sensory manifestations."

Brand extensions uncovered

Branding guys have determined how brand extensions appear! The answer is sex. :)
Now I now why I like branding ;) Seriously, This analogy is clever and intuitive.

Quote from Introduction - What is a brand identity?
As an adolescent they take a drastic leap forward in their development. Key influencers include:
genetics and their sex;

sex!
The ability to reproduce themselves;
Fascination and fear of its many side-effects.

physical and emotional growth;

self-awareness;

social structures;

etc.

IKEA=furniture+specialty grocery?

In an attempt to rescue its margin, IKEA plans to move into the grocery market with its own-label products in 2006. Hm... "Come to IKEA, buy a table and some food!" :)
Is this what marketers call "losing focus" or simply genius?

Ikea to move into speciality grocery market
